Berlin is home to Europe's only Chocolate Restaurant, Fassbender und Rausch, run by the chocolatier Jürgen Rausch, who's been creating specialty chocolates from the cocoa of Trinidad & Tobago for a number of years now.
During the month of December the restaurant will be featuring cuisine influenced by the Caribbean flavors of Trinidad with three separate menus, each consisting of four courses. The "Gran Couva" menu includes a Creole chicken entrée with fried plantains, The "Maracas Bay" menu has a beef fillet in papaya-ginger sauce, and the "Port of Spain" menu features roast lamb encrusted with zataar and chocolate. In fact all the menus use fine cocoa from Trinidad in one way or another, either in the appetizer, entrée or dessert.
The Fassbender und Rausch Chocolate Restaurant is open seven days a week, and these menus are available for dinner from 6pm to 10pm. The restaurant is located at the Gendarmenmarkt at Charlottenstraße 60, 10117 Berlin.
